Walkout of Lockdown!

With the imposition of a new National Lockdown on 5th November we’ve been considering how best to respond.

Whilst most of our services are still suspended or restricted, we all know how important it is to keep connected with nature and what a balm it can be to help us through these difficult times. Under the current government guidelines, charities and groups providing support can still continue in person and so we intend to carry on supporting people to get outside over the coming month with our Reconnect sessions. For more info visit our Reconnect sessions on our What We Offer page.

And if you can’t make our groups then we’re really delighted to welcome Doran, our guest blogger who is going to take over our social media pages for the next month to bring some nature connection to you. Doran has been one of our valued volunteers with Grow since last March and has developed his own practices and ways of connecting with nature. Each week he is going to share details and inspiration for a new practice you can try via the blog on our website, through Facebook, and on Instagram. We’d love you to practice along with us and to share any photos or pieces of creativity that they lead you to. Gently and with the guidance of nature we’ll get through this together

New events added to our Natural Wellbeing Programme!

If you’re looking for lovely ways to connect with nature then our ever-expanding programme of Natural Wellbeing events could be just the thing. Half or full day sessions at weekends in beautiful natural locations offering a range of different ways to connect with nature, the landscape and others - what could be better? Why not take a look at what we’ve got planned over the next couple of months here

Better still if you subscribe to our newsletter here you’ll always be kept up to date as new dates are added

And as an added incentive - if you book on to 2 or more sessions at the same time, we’ll give you a discount of £5 on each ticket. Just add the discount code GROWMORE to the booking

All profits from these days go to support our charitable work and help to make us more sustainable

Join us for a Winter Wander

Back by popular demand - we’re delighted to announce our annual Winter Wander Walk and Fundraising Open Day is taking place again this year on Sunday 30th December 2018.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get off the sofa after the excesses of the festive Season and fill your lungs with some lovely South Downs air, while raising some much needed funds for Grow then this is the event for you!

The day will start with guided walks from Devils Dyke Pub Car Park at 11am and 12.15pm down to the National Trust’s beautiful Saddlescombe Farm.  The number 77 bus goes up to the Devils Dyke from central Brighton arriving at 10.46 and 12.01 or you can park in the pub car park.  We’ll also be running a minibus shuttle down to the farm for those that can’t manage the walk.

At the farm there will be hot soup and bread made in the clay oven, the chance to try out some great nature based craft activities and of course there will always be cake! There’ll also be an exhibition of Grow creativity and a chance to find out about our work from those who have participated in the project. We’ll also be selling raffle tickets for the Grow Winter Prize Draw with some great prizes to be won and the day will finish at 3pm.

Tickets for the event are just £6 (+fees) for Grow members and concessions or £12 for non-Growers and are available from https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3914360 or you can just turn up on the day (but it helps if we know you’re coming in advance for catering!)

We look forward to seeing you out on the Downs
